Da Beast is an intense, stylized action-thriller that pits man and woman versus beast in a back-and-forth battle to the death.

In the hunt for epic waves, a group of cocky surf-tourists, their local guides and a wizened sea captain go to a forgotten remote wave where they become the hunted.

The island that plays home to some of the best surf they’ve ever seen also plays home to a beast that’s the last gasp effort by a group of WW II Japanese scientists to tip the scales of war in their favor.

Their plan was to create an army of gigantic, genetically and biomechanically engineered beasts capable of mass destruction.

Although Hiroshima cut short their efforts, they left behind an early prototype with a brain and body designed for no other purpose than to seek and destroy.

This feature is a mash-up of different genres: extreme sport action, raw documentary, thriller, contemporary monster movie and even social commentary with its theme about the loss of traditional culture to developoment, modernization, appropriation and crass commercialization.
